PPMT Committees

Committees are ongoing groups that meet on a regular basis to accomplish regular PPMT goals and initiatives.

 

Marketing & Community Outreach Committee

Develop, oversee, and implement marketing and community outreach programs, including organizing and promoting PPMT community exhibits, advertising special events, contests, workshops, fundraising programs, membership drives, social outings and coordinating speaking opportunities, disseminating promotional information, projecting a positive image of PPMT in the community and presenting PPMT promotional, multi-media displays for the recruitment of new members.  Identify opportunities and develop programs for charitable giving. Implement a process to provide member apparel and PPMT merchandise. Provide input and recommendations regarding PPMT’s communication methods, advertising and promotional materials and other marketing efforts to the Board.

Events & Activities Committee

Develop, plan and organize PPMT special events, contests, workshops, fundraisers, social outings and mentorship programs. Identify and procure venues and meeting locations for monthly meetings, social outings and special events.  Communicate with and schedule affiliate and guest speakers.  Determine logistics and costs of activities and events. Coordinate with the Marketing & Community Outreach Committee to promote the activities and events and provide input and recommendations to the Board.

Membership & Media Committee

Manage, maintain and oversee PPMT membership management system, member merit tracking, monthly newsletter, website calendar of events and other administrative tasks.  This includes maintaining current membership database on the Association website. Provide input and recommendations to the Board for recruitment of new members and retention of existing members.  Maintain accurate member and association records and report on member and association activities. Issue membership certificates, cards and ID badges to qualified members, where applicable. Monitor and develop programs and member benefits that are responsive to the needs of existing and prospective PPMT members.  Recruit volunteers to participate in committee affairs.  Communicate with the membership and community through email, blog and social media posts, press releases and announcements.

Awards & Recognition Committee

Communicate and negotiate with vendors to donate products and services for door prize drawings and auction items.  Build vendor relationships and cultivate an atmosphere of gratitude toward our sponsors and recognize their generosity through email and social media. Organize inventory of door prizes and auction items to be allocated throughout the year.  Maintain accurate records of sponsor donations, email communications and award recipients.  Coordinate service and recognition programs and awards for top PPMT achievers and facilitate a year-end member awards and recognition event. Provide input and recommendations to the Board for improved allocation of resources.

Advocacy Committee

Advocate for PPMT and our national affiliate, PPA, on legal, regulatory and other issues affecting the rights of photographers.  Help promote PPMT as a voice for photographers’ rights to members and public at large. Research current developments and issues in the photography industry. Develop training programs and educational materials targeted at legal and ethical issues related to the photography industry.  Educate photographers on issues and rights.

Universal Charge to all Committees

  • Identify issues and benefits of interest to PPMT members.
  • Identify potential writers, speakers, webinar and workshop leaders.
  • Identify promotional, charitable and community outreach opportunities.
  • Participate in board meetings, events and other affairs of the association.
  • Encourage PPMT member participation and seek out potential PPMT members.
  • Use social media as an avenue to recruit new members and recognize PPMT sponsors.
  • Disseminate information on ethical and legal issues in the photography industry.
  • Be an advocate for PPMT, PPA and the photography industry and a leader in the community.
